- How do I setup a frag tank?
- Setting up a frag tank
- What equipments do I need for a frag tank?
Setting up a frag tank is definitely easier than setting up a reef tank(in most cases). There are definitely ways to build frag tanks without sumps but like the reef setups, it is best to have extra biofiltration. Extra storage area also means, you can hide your heater, skimmer, etc. You can turn a regular fish tank into a frag tank or have one custom made from someone who is good with acrylic work. Acrylic tend to scratch so keep in mind that you need to buffer the surface once in a while.
DIY Frag Tank:
1. Fish Tank (Shallow tank recommended - 15g, 20g Long, 30g breeder, 33g Long, etc.)
2. Pumps for waterflow
3. Egg Crates
5. optional: Return Pump
6. optional: Sump (Bottom sump, Hang-on back or within the frag tank as extra storage area)
8. Live Rocks
